It's quite possible to fast and not lose much weight. You can make the cleansing drink with a bit more maple syrup than usual, keep drinking it with or without the ACV (people have varying limits on how much ACV they can drink) with a lot of maple syrup and you won't lose weight. It will however slow down the cleansing aspect - all calories and sugars slow down detoxing, bu this is often a GOOD thing. :)
My ideal fast is the cleansing drink plus veggie juices, teas and broths and a day of fruit juices every now and again. :)
Now gaining weight is best left to the rebuilding stage, which is after the cleansing and alkaline stage. Once you're clean and balanced, then you can start adding things to gain weight and build bone/blood. One of the best things are nuts. Soak 10 almonds or another Dosha appropriate nut in water or milk overnight, then blend them with the protein shake or make almond milk or just eat them. Use 2 eggs in the protein drink, and either coconut or flax seed oil. I snack on nut and fruit bars all the time, or brown rice bars.
If you can find raw milk, then the chai drink with honey every night is a wonderful way to rebuild without increasing congestion.
