Re: I have candida!! help!
Healme
I can't give you specific advise to correct your problem, but I can relate to you my experiences. Perhaps you can learn something from them.
I'm soon to be 59. Have been treating myself for what I thought was just hypoglycemia for 30 years. As I got older, I would have bouts of malaise, joint pain and brain fog, but kept chugging antacids and zantac to handle the acid indigestion and reflux. The severity of my low blood
Sugar symptoms would come and go. When I dropped into that feeling of severe malaise and brain fog....I would go on a low blood
Sugar diet and within 2-4-6 weeks would feel better. A short time later I would go right back to my SAD diet. But then my left shoulder started aching in the joint and the right elbow started to sweel up the size of a golf ball near the bursar sack. They would drain the swelling and it would come right back.
At age 54 my system crashed. After lunch one day with lots of saturated fats I was so weak and so dizzy I could not stand up. I thought I was on a 3 day drunk. After 6 months of an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and abdominal ultrasound, and after an ear nose and throat, and pulmonary specialist consultation.......all they found was a hiatal hernia. The consensus was that most of my problems were psychosomatic!
I started seeing a nutritional therapist who provided me with a wealth of good advice - acid/alkaline balance, probiotics, digestive enzymes, omega fats, fiber, etc. I had tests done for parasites, unfriendly bacteria, toxic metals, trace elements, and leaky gut. Sure enough I had an unfriendly bacteria in my system, but tested negative to Candida. I also tested positive to leaky gut. Trace elements and toxic metals did not seem to be a problem.
Her advise was right on, but what she could not predict was my bodies inability to tolerate many of the natural remedies that she prescribed. Almost every thing that she suggested I use - herbs to clear up the citrobacter diversis, omega fats, digestive enzymes, etc.....caused me terrible acid reflux.
I finally saw an allergist and he diagnosed me with
food sensitivities to a number of foods in the mold family (onions, mushrooms, garlic, wheat, oats, potatoes, grapes, strawberries, etc.) that were triggered by airborne molds and grain smut.
I eliminated most of my acid reflux from
food sensitivities thru food avoidance and within the last year have finally started taking allergy shots to desensitize my system to the airborne allergens in our area in Virginia. All of these things were helping but none were curing me.
Finally I found the
Liver Flush Forum and started a real internal cleansing procedure in January. I did two flushes before I did the
parasite (wormwood) and
Colon Cleanse (
Oxypowder ). They do not recommend you do it in this order but I was anxious to see if the flush would help. I did not seem to cause me any problems. I've just recently completed my 9th flush (over 6 months) and have removed over 2000 stones from my system. Most have been the small (pea sized) green stones, but over 100 have been 3/8" in diameter and larger. I have expelled over 10 stones that were more than 3/4" in diameter, one of which was 1" (I know I measured it) in diameter. I don't believe my gall bladder and liver are clean yet, but they are now clean enough that I can tolerate taking almost any supplement, including all types of enzymes, omega fats, probiotics, etc.
I now know that my problems were not just hypoglycemia all along. That was only a symptom to the real problem......maldigestion due to a congested liver, congested gall bladder and an overgrowth of yeast.
I am now doing a candida cleanse. I should point out that I've been tested twice for candida and both tests were negative...but I still had the symptoms - infection under a toe nail, significant brain fog (off and on), and prostatitis (one bout). After having done 9 flushes and still having some of the same overall symptoms (albeit much milder) I knew there was still a problem in my system.
Last Sunday I started a candida cleanse using Garden of Lifes "Fungal Defense" and "Candex" by Pure Essence Labs at the same time (my formula - not one that was recommended to me)....and at the end of just one week I am noticeably better. I don't expect to rid myself of candida in one week, but I think I am truly on the road to a full recovery. I will stay on this regimen for another 2-3 weeks and then plan to switch to Garden of Life's "Primal Defense" which are a good quality probiotic.
My advice to anyone tring to cleanse there system.....would be to
Get off the SAD diet immediately. Stay away from all processed foods and saturated fats. Focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and some lean meats and fish + plenty of bottled water and a good fiber supplement (if you are not taking in enough natural fiber). If you have food sensitivies.....going on this diet will probably start providing some immediate relief to malaise, brain fog and reflux.
1st - Do several
Liver Cleanses along with the colon and
parasite cleanses. While that cleansing is going on - start digestive enzyme therapy, along with probiotics, omega fats, and a good hypoallergenic multivitamin.
2nd - Do a candida cleanse - while you continue with the enzymes, probiotics, omega fats and multivitamins
3rd - Go on a powerful probiotic regimen for 2-3 weeks and then settle back into a maintenance program of enzymes, probiotics, essential fats and vitamins
A great reference book for following this regimen is called "Allergies - Disease in Disguise" by Carolee Bateson - Koch DC ND.
I'm sure everyone's problems are a bit different, but I'm of the opinion that the solution for all of our problems are much the same....and are provided in her book.
Hope this helps you gain greater health!
