I have taken my share of probiotics as well... they were one of the first supplements I gave up without any apparent loss of moving forward. I do continue to occasionally eat organic yogurt, kefir and fermented vegetables and drink kombucha tea almost daily though. Maybe I more than make up for the missing supplementation through diet... I do not know.
If I ever decide to try probiotics again, I will look into EMs, as I am hoping to move completely away from supplements (accept for green foods like chlorella and such) and focusing on diet while creating my own cultured food products to eat.
I think supplementation may be good in the short term for a specific need, but can create an imbalance in our systems that may cause or exacerbate the very problems we are trying to cure if not used responsibly.
