One thing to remember that if you have had candida for an extended lenght of time like as not many systems in your body are being adversely affected and sometimes treating those as well will help with symptoms and recovery. If your body is overly stressed with other issues it can not successly fight to regain its balance.
With me one of the best things was adding low dose cortisone for adrenal support, it literally helped to function normally again. I had them tested and they were completely blown out. I have also been on thyroid support for almost a year as I was having low thyroid symptoms but am in the process of coming off of them as I feel my thyroid is doing better and am going to see if my body can manage without it. My female hormones were wiped out as well, but I'm 48 so to be expected, have started bio-identicals and with the added progesterone I believe it has helped my thyroid so feel it is Ok to come off now.
I found a medical institute after about 18 months of getting nowhere and luckily they believe in candida so am treating that with compounded Nystatin. They also did a really indepth complete body workup to find out exactly what is stressed and lacking in my body and treating. I really believe that is why some people spend years battling candida, they don't address the other issues. I have also removed my 10 Amalgams this past Oct. and am doing mercury removal at this time and feel that has been a big help also. Will it help me beat candida, only time will tell.
I have went from being bedridden two years ago to feeling just pretty close to normal again, something I never thought would happen.
Candida cost me a lot, a job I loved of 13 years, thousands of dollars and three years of my life and sanity.
