On a light diet such as one to fight candida, it's common to have low blood Sugar in the middle of the night, say around 2-3 a.m. Lots of people keep something "safe" to eat on the bedside table. By low blood Sugar I mean metabolic processes require Sugar and we convert fats, proteins and low glycemic index carbs (veggies) to do this when we're on a candida diet. If we don't have enough of this conversion going on our brains don't work as well, since the brain requires sugar, even in a converted form. Our bodies carry out metabolic processes day and night, whether we're awake or asleep, and require this converted "sugar." I have a hard time not starving myself while I'm starving out the candida. I've had severe eye problems and sleep problems on the candida diet. :o)
