Hi Rachel,

yes, I was diagnosed via a blood test - and apparently I was very very lucky to get a positive result. You are right - the tests are unreliable. They never give false positives, but only false negatives.

I just attended a talk at NYU about Lyme. I met about twenty people there who's major complaint was IBS, insomnia, and major left-side spleen pain, and utter exhaustion! Turns out they all had Lyme! I was stunned.

One of the doctors at the talk - a very famous Lyme doc - said that only 16% of the peope with Lyme ever get a positive test!
