Yes, I use the Vita-Mix -- it takes about one minute! I also bought the second 'dry' container for that grinding, as well as for grinding nuts -- last weekend, I turned the machine on, poured the cup of nuts into the container and immediately shut it off -- the nuts were just the right size -- fantastic, just to get things done so quickly -- and well. The blade is slightly different in the dry container in that it keeps the food above the blades, rather than drawing them down as needed for smoothies. Then, I just add the other ingredients and get to it!
And, not a raw food, but frozen peaches with sugar, vanilla and whipping cream -- ice cream in 30 seconds! At least, there were no preservatives . Sorbets will be very easy with this machine, I am sure.
I am buying this over three months from Vita-Mix -- a nice feature.
