Re: To Boronia
Hi Johnny,
Have you been reading the info in Andy's book re psychological effects? Yes I thought your reaction to the ALA was very telling but it's hard to judge another person's situation. The psychological symptoms are one of the main reasons that's been convincing me of a mercury problem, esp as they got worse since my ALA episode. I think if I didn't know anything about nutrition I'd probably be doped up on anti-psychotic medication by now! I've had hallucinations, and other things quite severe things like total social withdrawal, obsessional thoughts and low self-worth. Scarey stuff!
Did you read my earlier post to Amanda about ALA and candida? Not that it gives a full explanation but that's what it says in the book.....the bile and sulfahydrl groups irritating the gut. I would assume its because it's stirs up the mercury....someone on the mercury/autism forum said something to that effect, but not everyone has a yeast problem so must just be those of us that do...how ironic!
You could ask Andy more about the relationship between ala and candida...post a message to the group and send him an e-mail with the message number asking him to address it.
You mean split the 100mgs and take 25mg? It could still be too much but you wouldn't know till you tried. I really don't know about DMSA as I've never taken it but the general advice is that it will taken the burden off the body which will help when you're taking the ALA (which gets it out of the brain). Some people start on both, others start on DMSA first before moving onto ALA.
Given that you only just tried the megadose of ala, I would wait a bit longer...not that I'm an expert. I just get the impression you're getting a bit eager again ;)
Maybe wait another week? Or get advice from the group again as they're chelating and I'm not yet.
Take care and keep us informed :)
Anne
