Re: To Johnny V

Hi!

>I've realised today that my (post chelation) symptoms were *not* entirely psychological. My candida has flared up massively since chelation. Before chelation I pretty much had it under control - now it has me under control. That certainly explains some of my mood issues - whether it explains all my mood issues I don't know.

>Also has this anything to do with mercury - again I don't know. Was it mercury causing my mood problems and the candida to overgrow? Or was it just the candida responding to the ALA?

I forgot to tell you that ALA increases any candida you have...not sure if this applies to everyone or just to people with candida....really sorry about that, I should have warned you....probably thought you'd have read that somewhere. This can happen with DMPS and DMSA too! Yes it makes it more difficult to work out what was causing your symptoms.

Also I just read your post on the FDC group...perhaps you should have mentioned that you'd already done a round ;) Maybe you should do a few more rounds, on a much lower dose, to see how you feel. If you do, up the probiotics.

> My problem is that I'm an expert on candida. Their problem is that they are expert on mercury. Between us its difficult to make objective decisions.

>The entire mercury decision issue is decided in large part on the basis of a deranged/abnormal mineral profile. Now I clearly pass that test - I have a very typical ( in a Cutler sense) deranged mineral profile. Cutler says that the only thing he knows of which causes this is mercury. But this doesn't mean that deranged mineral profile implies mercury!

I agree. How long have you been on the anti-candida diet for? I would say if you've done it consistently for at least 3 months, if not 6, without noticing a difference this suggests it can't be just down to candida. What do you think?

Also who did you get your hair test done with? Did they suggest the glandulars, and a low calcium, potassium diet to correct the mineral imbalance? If so, have you been on that type of diet for any length of time? Has it helped?

> The only one or two uniquely mercury symptoms - e.g. metallic taste - I don't have.

You don't have to have this symptom. Also you don't have to have a sensitivity to sulphur.

> The nail in the coffin (against mercury) is that I didn't develop symptoms after dental work, I became ill after getting glandular fever.

Neither did I, but I don't think this rules it out.

> Now there is a remote possibility that I had mercury in my system all along and that although it may not have been the initial cause of candida, it is stopping me from getting better.

Yes I agree and this may apply to me also. Andy has seen my hair tests and said they suggest a strong possibility of mercury intoxication but doesn't mean it was the initial cause.

I would just look at if the diet has helped you at all...if not then maybe look into trying another round of ALA, perhaps with DMSA on very low doses and see how you feel. Oh, and the prothingy test!
