Re: Ham and candida

Dont know about any cultural reasons for avoiding ham, pork, and especially hot dogs, but the fact that these meats usually contain nitrites make them an absolute no for candida people. I think any smoked meat is included in the banned list?

The nitrite hangover is very specific for me, it starts with an allover swollen, distended feeling where even my skin hurts almost immediately, then the dark circles under the eyes about 20 minutes later, followed by headache for the next 20 hours. I get it with any nitrite meat, even smoked salmon.

I would like to say the hangover is enough to make me not eat hot dogs ever, but sometimes I need to cheat and they are my cheat of choice. The hangover is always brutal, but then we're used to feeling rotten.
