Re: Has anyone actually beaten Candidiasis?

Hi,

I really think it depends on how far down the road you are and also what the 'cause' is, if there is one cause, though I believe there will be several factors involved. Most importantly how compromised, or not, your adrenals/thyroid, and of course liver, are by toxins and nutritional deficiencies, and other stresses. Any weakness in these glands is likely to lead to candida in susceptible people and vice versa. If they are generally in not too bad shape, I think it's much easier to 'overcome' candida. If not, you need more specific support for these glands as the candida will just compromise them even more, leading to a vicious circle. Related to this...if there are a lot of, and longstanding, mineral deficiencies it takes a lot longer to control candida problems as min defs take a lot longer to correct, unlike vitamin deficiencies which you can correct within a few hours/days due to the high turnover.

I've had C.F.S. (or hypothyroid, whatever you want to call it!) due to vaccination/mercury damage for 12 yrs. I first developed candida within the first few weeks/months of being ill. When I was first treated by an 'alternative' approach (a herbalist) after 18mths of being ill, I 'recovered' in about 6 weeks though I still had a little bit of brain fog (though I and my herbalist didn't know anything about EFAs at that time). My energy levels were back to normal, in fact better than normal, I felt like an athlete!
However it was not a cure as such and when I lapsed on the diet the symptoms did return. I don't think I understood the nature of the beast, or what had happened to my body. I'm hoping chelation will help lessen my susceptibility to candida. I did read on someone's website recently that he recovered from 11yrs of chronic fatigue and candida after he removed his Amalgams and most importantly, chelated for one year after that. He said he can now get away with eating sweets etc without having a candida flare-up. I can't remember the name of the website though!
Though of course mercury is not behind every case of candida!

IMO it will always be a bit of a battle for most people as most people probably won't stick to a strict diet forever.

Anne
