coconut oil in cooking

Hello! I'm just wondering about the therapeutic benefits of coconut oil and whether it must be used in a specific way in order to reap these benefits. I have been using it in cooking (both for stir-frying and for baking low-carb, candida-friendly "cookies"). I generally just use it wherever I would normally use butter. So does it lose it's healing properties when cooked? Should I be taking it raw, on an empty stomach, etc.? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Also, I sometimes notice that I feel somewhat nauseated after eating foods that I've cooked with coconut oil. Is this common?
