Re: Family member of possible candida sufferer with question!
Johnny,
It's odd to me that I have been the only family member on here asking questions.
I'll admit, her lack of telling us anything [she is my sis-in-law and I'm married to her brother;obviously,I'm female]has made us specualte on our own about what's been going on.The main reason why I started doing research is because other family members have boycotted XMas dinner at my house because of her problem [she will NOT eat in front of others, but expects a plate to take home, which we wonder if she actually eats.I'd say it's been a good 6 years since I have seen her put food in her mouth and chew it right in front of me,so you understand my concern on this.];it makes for a tense atmosphere to have one person stare at everyone else eating.I'm Italian and a chef,so food is a huge part of daily life for me and I am trying very hard to comprehend the illness because she is my family.
Kind of an odd position for me to be in;it puts me in the middle and it's easy to say "Do this and you'll possibly feel better",but I am not a doctor and i cannot make her "do" anything, even if it will help her.
After reading a huge list of varied symptoms [and not all G.I-related],it helps me understand what we thought of as "attention-getting tactics",like walking in and moaning and groaning about not feeling well, but magically becoming part of conversation and perking up if someone pays just the right amount of sympathetic attention [behavior like that is why we have been speculating if this was an actual illness or something in conjunction with possible emotional problems/eating disorders]...all very confusing and frustrating...but family is all you've got,so I'm willing to do what is needed to help out [and keep everyone sane!]....thanks again!
