Xylitol for the Holidays
Hi everyone and happy holidays!
Since I see some new people here, I thought I'd repost my story. I have been free of candida overgrowth for 7 months. I got well by using a nontraditional method (even compared to most alternative methods). I used xylitol, an antifungal
Sugar alcohol, about 1/4 cup per day. I felt the effects the first day, which was wonderful, since I had been suffering for years. It actually killed off the overgrowth in about 3 months, but I kept using it as I began to
Bowel Cleanse with bentonite, which helped to remove the dead candida. I also used lactobacillus acidophilus, during my whole regimen.
For my diet, I totally cut out:
--any other types of sugars
--most grains
--anything with yeast
--fruit
--alcohol
What I ate was some meat, beans, eggs, some dairy (I know some people don't do well with dairy), some corn chips (Santitos or similar), brown rice or wheat noodles, unsweetened coconut, xylitol in cocoa (unsweetened dark cocoa), or teaspoons of xylitol by itself, and lots of vegetables and beans.
When I got a LOT better, I added Granny Smith apples. Now I can eat what I wish, but I'm still eating a sensible diet.
Refined
Sugar and
Antibiotics made me sick in the first place, so the xylitol helped ease my cravings for sugar, and helped me to prevent setbacks.
The side effects from xylitol are:
--If we eat more than a couple of teaspoons at once, it could cause diarrhea or gas. I recommend spreading it out during the day, and to start slowly - maybe just a teaspoon the first day to test any reactions.
--If a person has allergies, it could cause a headache, due to the amount of alcohol residue from the manufacture.
--Also, many brands are made with corn, so the same caution applies to those with allergies.
Xylitol can be measured about the same as sugar, and can be cooked on the stove or in the oven, in most recipes.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
I hope this helps,
Julie

This is a true story. I have never met anyone else who has claimed to be healed of candida overgrowth by xylitol, but I have seen a couple of articles which reference that it can be used. I will ask for permission to post one article, and will post it later.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
I hope this helps,
