Don't worry about taking this forum off tack!!
Believe me thyroid is *very* relevant to candida. If this board were filled with thyroid discussion it would only be beneficial to the candida community.
If you want to get *really* educated on thyroid, go over to dybiosis.com, and there are a series of books on candida and related issues. Book 4 is particularly relevant to you (thyroid). Each of the books is $5, but you can buy the whole set for $20.
Thyroid meds aren't always the best as they only give you one particular type of thyroid (T4??). Glandular supplements are supposed to be a lot better. You can go over to the "ask shelley" forum if you want more info on this.
Personally I am not a big fan of taking glandulars, and luckily I managed to cure myself with coconut oil. I'm not sure exactly how coconut oil works to help the thryoid, only that it does. Something else which is important is to avoid all polyunsaturated oils (and foods fried in them). They really mess up the thyroid.
