Re: and yet another announcement on lowering acids

they just said it again!! Today it was a study that found when people took medications for ulcers that they were more suseptable to the pnemonia bug.

These are hospital studies, and they can implement a natural cure if they want. Its the doctors who dont use supplements, but the hospital can ask a nurse to administer a supplement. Imagine the savings in hospital costs!!

They could give them - oh! "NOTHING" , and the problem would be over. Then treat the ulcer with cayenne and so on.

The obvious problems with current medical treatment of ulcers is being exposed, however slowly. The medicines are the main problem - they do not work, they lead to more diseases, and they get in the way of us using alternative therpies . Therapies without patents - natural therapies - are ignored by medicine, for financial reasons. We must demand to start using them again to save health care, or make it affordable to those without coverage.

Also, today I read that pharmaceutical companies are not living up to the agreement to spend at least 10% of their operating budget on research into new medicines. This was in return for the extended patent protection - you remember that big hullaballo a few years back.

But they dont want to spend that much. They have clamied, and cried, about spending sooooo much on new pills, but its not even bloody well 10%.
Some of the big drug makers spent only 9.1%, and have never spent more than 11.4% - this is in the last 10 years since the agreement on patent time extension, which began 10 years ago. This should make us scream with rage. What insolence. "It was never intended to be forever" drug spokesmn said. Its only been 10 years, and it was supposed to be forever. Any new drug gets several more years patent protection under the agreement, and thats true today for new pills . That part is forever, why not the research requirement?

Instead of developing new pills, drug compaines have been busy trying out "off-label" uses for pills allready on the market, where a kidney pill is used for Parkinsons, something other than what it was developed for.

They also market on TV now, and have to dream up new illnesses like ADD , so they can prescribe for it. So new pills are not a priority , despite the fact the public has given so much in charity and so on to finding a cure for cancer.

The drug guys are probably saying : "nope, a new pill is not as profitable as what we have allready... the new Science is intersting, but it will wait... we dont want to get too far ahead anyways, with cures and stuff."

But they just think that to themselves...

Jawg.

There are many examples where this could be applied. Billions, trillions over time, would be saved... but that s not their objective I guess.
