Expressing a strong opinion can be intimidating to some people and they can feel overwhelmed if the statements made are irrefutable, that is usually the cause of someone feeling intimidated by another persons opinion. Very often, the person will subconsciously "choose" to feel insulted and uncomfortable instead of "live and let live". But, being "forced" is like being threatened, if there is no ultimatum or consequences, it is not coercion and should not be seen as "being compelled" to agree.
Someones opinion that they are "being forced" is usually a perception and a REaction, unless ACTION has actually been taken against them.
