Re: randiman1's - I have to agree
I am glad to see that someone agrees with me. The amount of ignorance about this subject is overwhelming. To me it is common sense that if something has a different name then it is not the same thing. (type 1 and type 2) I just wish people would do their own research before they opened their mouth, or just don’t talk about it. I know that if I don’t know something I am not going to start talking about it like I do. I don’t go around preaching about type 2 because I don’t know much about type 2. Of course I know the basics but I don’t know anything about oral medication. I wish I had type 2, because at least with type 2 there is a chance to just take pills or even become “cured”.
Sorry I had to vent, but this is my biggest pet peeve. Type 1 is not the same as type 2!! I just wish I could scream it and make everybody aware of it.
So you have had type 1 for 14 years? What meds are you on? I am on the pump right now, but sometimes it can really be a pain. When I am not on the pump I take lantus and humalog. I have to say if you don’t have the pump I would recommend looking into it. When I first found out I was diabetic I was on the syringe and vial, then when I moved to the insulin pens I thought I was in heaven, and once I got on the pump I was really in heaven. I love it because I can just tell it how much insulin I need and I don’t even have to leave the table or my desk at work!
I would love any information that you have on the subject. I am pretty educated on the topic ( I have to know everything about the disease I have). I would love if they found a cure for the disease. I would even be willing to let them test it out on me!
