Re: Peter's 'Jacked Up Idea of What The Bible Says'
refreshed said: "I see nothing I have written that states relieving them of responsibility. This is just an ongoing account of their error. They can not sacrifice animals and be relieved of their sins, if that is what you are thinking. They have to come to Jesus as their Lord and Savior, just as all of us."
you say these things but do you really know what they mean?
what is atonement? the sacrifice system was a means for obtaining atonement for sins.
at - one - ment. it is the process by which one owns up to ones sin.
Matthew 3:6 ...confessing their sins.
Mark 1:5 ...confessing their sins.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins...
that hasnt changed. that was not an error on their part. following the law leads to life, not death. and when they broke the law they had a means to take care of it through the law. you can sit back and fold your hands across your chest and talk about how in error they were? you dont even understand their error. they had the promise of god. god kept his promise through jesus christ. jobs redeemer DID live, even though the act of redemption had not been performed yet. jesus died for the sins of the whole world, past present and future. he fulfilled the law, not abolished it. he showed us how to keep the law, even though he broke the letter of it according to the religious a**holes of the day(why, after 2000 years, do we still have those?).
you see, if anyone kept the law of moses they were just fine.
Matthew 7:14
because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Isaiah 53:6
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
thats the error the israelites made. they abandoned the law in favor of their own rules made up from the cultures around them. sound familiar? it should. that describes modern christianity to a T. good old antichrist. gotta love that kidder, dontcha?
so because you dont understand the things youre talking about you are coming to some wrong conclusions. what about the good old days. when david was king or when israel had other righteous kings (there were a couple or so) and the temple system was in full swing? how was that messed up? read isaiah 29. the lion of god is the bronze alter for burnt offerings. isaiah was a no nonsense guy. a plain talker, as are most of gods prophets. they are like me, not you. this was a play on words, a slap in the face of all the children of israel. the alter was the lion of god because the people were so damn sinful they had to keep it going day and night consuming the flesh of the sacrifices for their sins. they kept the law like whores of god. rather than give him their hearts, they paid him off. they played lawyer with him. and banker. and once that little inconvenience was out of the way they went their own way. until it no longer mattered to them at all. just like christians do.
youre sick and you need a doctor. turn to the lord and repent and ask him for understanding.
