the first species was spoken into existence - "let us make man in our own image" adam was created by the lord reaching down and taking some of the earth that was already created and forming a man. the first species was created both male and female. adam was created alone and the female in him taken out later. the first species was not told to abstain from the tree in the midst of the garden. adam was told to stay away from it. the firs species was told to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth. adam was not. the first species did not have life breathed into it from god. adam did. the first species was like all the other animals in the field and not made a living soul. adam was. the first species was just a creation. adam was a procreation - a son of god.

so the term men can refer to the first or second species. the term son of god only refers to adam and his line.
