Re: Why is Ongoing Repentance Necessary For A Christian?
Yes! (Speaking for myself on that question you asked. I'll let Loquat speak for himself).
If someone claims to be speaking a "word from the Lord", and they miss it, run! Don't listen to that person anymore. It's a huge deal to say you are speaking words from the Lord, but you really are not!
This is not the same thing as misunderstanding something taught in the bible and then teaching something wrong by mistake or anything like that, although even that is something we should take very seriously and why we should test everything someone teaches to see if it's in line with scripture.
But speaking a word from the Lord falsely is a much bigger deal than that, and that's what the people of this day and age don't realize including some of the people on this forum.
We can know, according to this scripture and many others, that if someone prophecies a false word in God's name, he didn't send them! So why would you want to continue to listen to them then?
Jeremiah 29:
9 For they prophesy falsely to you in My name; I have not sent them, says the Lord.
