Oh, I see what you are asking. I don't know if you believe in the nine gifts of the Spirit for today or not. This word falls under those listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10. It is definitely NOT scripture. These kinds of words need to be judged as 1 Corinthians 14:29 says. These kinds of words were given to Christians during their gatherings in the New Testament, but were not added as scripture. This proves that they are not to be added to scripture. Also, we know that we are not to add to the Bible. Now, some Christians believe that these words should be treated as on the same level as scripture. I definitely disagree. Scripture is to be used to help judge these words. If they contradict scripture we are not to accept them. Many of these words do not come from the Lord. People error and also lie. Some just prophesy out of their imagination trying to make themselves look spiritual and trying to get people to think that God has given them a word. This is the main reason why these words need to be judged. If we are given a personal word it should confirm what God is telling us already. If it does not we should not accept it as being a true word from the Lord. The world of Christendom is filled with all kinds of people so we don't want to just accept these things without examination. Some pastors and even lay people use these kind of words to control people. Some Christians have even told others who to marry by calling it a word from the Lord. Any time this happens we should know to judge the word as not coming from the Lord unless it is something that the Lord has already told us.
We do not judge these words by whether they were given in first person or not. We also do not judge them by grammar. We judge them by the content of the message. The word that I posted falls under either prophecy or interpretation of tongues. Prophecy also means speaking for the Lord, not necessarily telling the future. Most of the time God does not give these messages word for word, although that can happen. We know this because if two different people give the interpretation they both use different words, but the meaning of the message is the same. Some groups will have two different people interpret if the Lord has given the interpretation to more than one. They do this to help them judge the word to see if it really is from God. I guess it can be compared to different Bible translations. Each translation is saying the same as far as meaning, but stating that meaning in different words. That is, of course, if the translation is accurate to the original. When God does not give these words, word for word, there can be grammar errors as well because a human is translating it. The person doing the interpreting will decide whether or not he wants to interpret using the first person or not. This is not an indication that the word is not from the Lord.
These kinds of words do not necessarily come from people who are prophets. They come from Christians who are operating in one of the nine gifts of the Spirit at that time. The Lord does this as He chooses. People cannot give true words from the Lord anytime they want to, although some claim they can. I find that claim hard to believe. Any time I have had a word from someone like that it did not seem to come from the Lord when I judged it. They were just too off about me. I do my best to stay away from those kind. Some try to learn how to read people in order to give words. Some go to classes to learn how to prophesy. I reject all these kinds of activities. A true word comes straight from the Lord. You do not do it by learning how to read people or from going to a school to learn. These activities can leave a person open to the demonic. Satan would love to jump in whenever there is an opening for him.
Having said that, 1 Corinthians 14:29 does use the word prophets for those who are giving these words. These kind of prophets are not to be confused with the kind of prophets that were in the Old Testament, the kind that the Lord spoke to directly to pen scripture. They are not on the same level by any means. The New Testament does not speak of an office of the prophet as in the Old Testament. I highly question whether we have prophets today as they had in the Old Testament. I really don't know for sure, but I do know that operating in one of the nine gifts of the Spirit does not make you a prophet like Old Testament times.
I did not find the word that I posted to be contradictory to scripture. It was more of a reminder of scripture. I believe it to be a real word from the Lord, however, you need to do your own judging and examination of things like this.
"For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues" 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 (KJV)
" Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge." 1 Corinthians 14:29 Version (KJV)
