The paragraph that you don't understand is referring to Mark 4:19. "And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful."

It definitely makes sense to me because it is something that I personally battle. Many times I have felt that the cares of this world are choking me. In otherwords my mind and my time are on the cares of this world more than they should be. Those cares keep me from seeking the Lord as much as I ought. The cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things are things many Christians have to battle. We cannot let them choke the word of God so that it will become unfruitful in our lives. When we are choked by such things we wonder why we are not entering into the things of the Lord as much as we would like. We become puzzled by it, but our answer is in this verse. We need to be aware of these things so that we will know to fight them. We cannot let these things distract us from our destiny in God. We must stay focused on Christ and on seeking Him. God is calling us to come higher in our walk with Him. It is in those higher places in Him that we will find an abundance of treasure. There are riches found in His presence that most do not know because they have not attained that higher level. As we come forward to that place in Him we will find rest and peace that we have never known. I definitely relate to these things. This word of the Lord was just reminding us of what scripture says. This word did speak to me and my situation. Others may not have felt it like I did. The Lord used this word to speak to me. That's why I posted it. I thought others may be helped by it too so I shared it. Tweet
