Best way to get a positive parasite stool test?
Hi All,
I posted some photos on here of what I believe are flukes (intestinal/liver-- not sure which), and was told by one member that they did indeed look like flukes. My doc is going to RX some albendazole (which, from what I've read is not the best thing for flukes-- praziquantel is best).
My doctor wants me to do a stool test and doesn't just want to go by the pictures (not too surprised). Anyway, I only seem to pass these fluke-like things when I take the antiparasitic herbs and Lower Bowel Balance which moves them out. If I stop taking the meds, my stools look normal and I suspect I'll get a negative stool test, as I have before. Do you think it's OK to continue to take the meds so I can pass a fluke (if that's what it is) and put it in the tube? I feel like it's my best bet for a positive result, but worry the antiparasitics will cause it to be negative too. I feel like I'm screwed either way, but wondered what you all thought....?
Also, he questions whether I may have SIBO too and says they often go together. Has that been anyone's experience on the board?
Thanks!
