We eat them straight, including the skin most of the time - although they're pretty easy to peel. The stones are surprisingly easy to germinate for new trees.
Loquat ice cream huh? Hmm......never occurred to me to try it. My only doubt is whether the subtle flavours would work in ice cream, but loquat sorbet should work. I might well give both a try s/time if I can keep enough back from a marauding family. I would need at least 2k (1k for each recipe) and I just don't think I can keep those thieving hands away long enough to try.
I grow lemons in my greenhouse, but I have never tried to make lemon ice cream.
Neither have I, but you could consider making lemon sorbet instead. Works a treat, and also a great favourite with the family. Just about the most refreshing (see what I did there?) frozen dessert going, and an essential part of any summer.
Will also be making chocolate, praline, pistachio, coconut, and strawberry ice creams this weekend, so got my work cut out. And making Tiramisu ice cream later on as a special request from a friend.
Well, makes a welcome break from talkin' trapper all the time, dunnit?
