jamie, while Somer is right that eating does take away many of the cleansing properties of MC; remember too that we go through a time of cleansing everyday-while we sleep. If you want to incorporate the cleansing drink with healthy eating then have the lemon drink for breakfast to extend the cleansing mode from night. You can also have a glass for a midmorning snack. At lunch eat raw fruits and veggies, your digestive system will kick in, but raw is still cleansing. If you need a cooked meal then eat it at least six hours before you go to sleep. Avoid refined and processed foods, most if not all meat and dairy products and unhealthy fats (transfats, vegetable oils and shortening). Use some olive oil or coconut oil though, they are both good for you. Joel Fuhrman ("Eat To Live") suggests using plenty of nutrient dense, fiber rich low calorie veggies like greens to lose weight in a quick healthy manner. If you need a cheat day-going out to eat, a party or something else where you have to eat what is served-then drink the lemonade drink the rest of the day and perhaps even fast with it the next day.
By following a plan like this you can continue to cleanse, although at a much slower and gentler rate, get plenty of nutrients essential for good health, and lose weight. Also, by eating you will not compromise your metabolic rate as severely as fasting and weight will come off at a more consistent rate.
