Yeah, ya hafta be v. careful with figs - too many = a dangerous sugar spike. We also freeze a lot of ours when we get a glut, which we then consume when they're out of season. So we have them virtually year round.
They lose their texture on defrosting, but make a really yummy dessert eaten as a compote with plain yoghurt (ie Gk style such as Fage) and Teisseire Grenadine or Passion Fruit Syrup drizzled on top. Some friends tried it, and they loved it.
