Re: EDITED For All Eternity! Jesus is the eternal sabbath.

I could not get the first link to work right for some reason, so I guess I will just post it here.

My beliefs on the matter.

Refreshed: "I do realize that neither calvinism or arminianism fits either one of us perfectly, for there are many degrees of each. However, this is the terminology that our church fathers used so we would all be on the same page when we discuss such things.

I'm sure it would sound much lovelier to be called "the doctrines of grace" believer, just as much as I would have liked to be called..."neither calvinist or arminian, but something in the middle" believer. My request is not quite as lovely sounding or easy to roll of the tongue. However, you told me that there is no such thing as being in the middle...only one or the other. So here we are.

My pastor assures me that our doctrine is indeed in the middle and not more of one or the other, so I trust his wisdom on what our denomination believes over what you think it means.

Of the people that I know the best here in this forum, none of them believes that works saves them. It is you that keeps telling us that we do. There is nothing wrong in accepting the grace of Christ and then moving into action by the power of the Holy Spirit after you receive Him. That part is not part of salvation...it is christians showing the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their lives. You are the one who will not let Christ finish the work He did on the cross or you would stop talking to christians about it over and over again and let them get on with their christian lives. It is finished.

You my friend are the perfect person to share the gospel with unbelievers because they need to know about the finished work on the cross by Jesus and the need of faith in Him. Fellow christians do not need to be reminded of that fact because we know it is finished. Now they get to go on their journey to eternity with the Holy Spirit empowering them to do good works until the day they die. Why do you make this so complicated?"
