Re: EDITED For All Eternity! Jesus is the eternal sabbath.

I see you are wanting me to play the OCD game. And of course I'm not going to dig through emails, even though they too set the tone for our thoughts however they are private as they should stay.

My beliefs on the matter.

Vektek: "As for the Calvinist label, I said I don't take offense to that. It's fine. Just not my favorite term because of why I said but I don't get all in a wad over being called that, since I do understand it's needed to simplify things by clarifying which side we lean to."

Refreshed: "It's mostly between me and vektek...but she knows I still love her even if she is the "C" word. :)

Vektek: "But I do have to say that last thing you said you me in the baptism thread (the C word post, lol) had me pretty perturbed."

Do you realize you :) and lol apparently even when you are mad?

I did however exaggerate that we had an agreement by taking a blood oath...no...I just imagined that. ;)

I can give all thanks to you for helping me to see that calvinism is not what I believe (edit) fully, even though my church studies the teachings of calvin but like you say...not everything he teaches. Yes the subject comes up in debate because if I share the gospel with someone, the way I say it does not meet with your approval and the same goes for me about how you present it. I have just never been able to figure out how we could work together. Other than to do what we do and that is debate. Otherwise, we are good friends, wouldn't you say? Or would that be an exaggeration as well? ;)

So no, I don't mind using the label Calvinist...it's just the label our church fathers gave it. The "C" word was used as sort of a joke to soften the blow of you getting upset that the subject was coming up again and plus exercising my "right" to debate the subject when needed. Just like I was very careful when bringing it up with Loquat because I didn't know how he would respond, it was not to be viewed as a hidden agenda, just trying to be careful and not so blunt. Yes, I have become very in tune through the years due to our debates to seeing the signs of calvinism. That is why I immediately started asking questions about how the UK was different than US and whether doctrine points us to a certain eschatology belief. I'm still thinking there is some truth to that even though you guys may not. Of course someone may start off with a different view because that is what they were taught, but it's what you finally end up with in your beliefs that's telling I think. I don't know if I'm at my final view but I was not taught in church what to believe in this area and read my bible before I started church and came to my own conclusions of the matter. So that is where I stand in Faith today.

So yes...we can admit that it's a big issue between us but that's not what God is looking at...He is looking at whether we still love each other. And so I'm at peace and slept like a baby last night.
