Read your post and wanted to share my fasting experience.
I was once over 400 pounds. I yo-yo fast on and off for years but I found when I did it for 23 straight days, I cured some of my ailments that medication could never do.
My high blood pressure was gone.
I had Uterine Fibroids, gone.
I also had, believe it or not, periodontitis disease where I had deep pockets as deep as 9, 10, 11, and 12. I didn't fast to cure that.
It's just when I went for my 4 month follow up with my dentist, he was amazed and asked what did I do because he had never seen healing of periodontitis disease. My pockets were now 3 - 5. I told him I just flossed and brushed. Then when I got home, I did a little research and realized that when you're on a long fast and your body is finished healing all of the dead tissue, ridding itself of all the toxins, it will heal anything left that needs healing and for me, it was teeth tissue that had receded and I can honestly say that I no longer have periodontitis and my dentist asked me to write a testimony on his website because he thought following his instructions did it.
Before you start any fast, you should talk to your doctor, of course. I can just tell you this from experience,
Every time I fast, I feel great. Right now, I just fast the last 10 days of every month to cleanse my body. I'm kind of addicted to it now because in the beginning, it's very hard, the first 3 days. After that, the hunger goes away and the only bad thing is the white film covering your tongue due to the toxins ridding itself from your body.
You might want to start of with 3 days, then 7, then 10, which is the amount that you will see real results. I have tried to do six weeks but have yet to reach that but any amount of fasting, in order to let your body heal the digestive system, is good. I wish I could post an article about the stages but the site chewed me out once I put a link on.
Just google about the stages of fasting by ChisB1 and you will see how quickly the body heals when you give it time to rest.
