Re: Addison's Disease

I have addisons disease. I was diagnosed in 1997 after 2 years of misery. For 2 years I was told it was "all in my head" and was even refered to a phsychiatrist. I went from 160lbs to 100. Finally got the flu and ended up in an emergency room near death. The doctor on duty in the ER was an Endocrynologist and immediately suspected addisons. I was tested and placed on Cortisone and Fludrocortisone. I have been able to have a baby and lead a relatively normal life. I have had 3 "addisons" crisis and do get easily tired and I have emotional ups and downs. But I was just so glad at the time of diagnosis to be able to put a name to my sickness and thankful that I wasn't going to die. I have tried to find info on Addisons and having difficulty. If anyone knows of a web site or chat room addressing the daily ups and downs of dealing with addisons please let me know.
