Re: Breast Lump, need advice please
I think I posted this to the wrong forum, so I'm reposting here:

Ugh. You may have seen a prior message I posted last week about finding a large lump in my breast and starting on 50mg of
Iodine along with the companion nutrients. Well, the good news is that the lump is already becoming more squishy and moveable and I'm really hopeful that it will just shrink and fade away over time.
The bad news is that when I went to my naturopath today to talk to her about the lump and order some blood work (to test for vitamin d levels, etc.) she was very unsupportive of
Iodine therapy. She said 50mg is the dosage that is used to "shut down" the thyroid entirely. I stated that Drs Brownstein, Flechas, and Abraham are routinely using
Iodine therapy with their patients with good results and she said, "isn't that just like medical doctors to put everyone on the same thing."
I don't understand why a naturopath would be so anti-iodine. Has she not read the research and the positive outcomes with iodine? Isn't it her job to be up-to-date on alternative medical practices. Sigh. :(
Oh and besides a softening of the breast lump, here are a few side effects I've had just this week I've been taking 50mg of iodine:
- softer "dewier" skin
- not sensitive to cold anymore
- better energy level
- hair not shedding in shower anymore
Call me naive, but it seems like Iodine is having a POSITIVE effect on my body. Gosh!
