Oil pulling may have it's merits, but I would think in your case it would aggravate the tooth that's sore.
No way to know if this would help the infection, but you might try Colloidal silver. Just put a couple of ounces in your mouth, swish it around for a while. Repeat often. You will know within a day if it feels better. That doesn't mean it will heal. If not the next thing I have heard about for dental infections is the laser.
If you have it removed, be sure to seek out a holistic type dentist.
The best preventative for teeth cleaning besides brushing is a waterpik filled with water with a couple of ounces of H202.
