Re: Ways to hide Exfoliative Cheilitis' appearance on your lips?

I've no tips for hiding the EC as most creams/ointments you use will interrupt the healing process.

One option is to keep one lip looking OK but lightly rubbing and leaving the other lip alone so that it can heal. If you only have EC on one lip this obviously won't be a problem.

The other option is to lightly trim the dead skin when it crusts and curls upwards.

Yellowing/orange colour of the lips comes from eating foods that stain like pasta sauce. Try to avoid this.

The lips look worse when wet, so avoid licking them.

Other than this you have to be brave. Try to avoid looking in mirrors as it can become a a vicous cycle and you end up going out less and less.

The worst part about EC is it affects the mechanics of the mouth. When scabs are thick and dry I cannot smile without tearing or ripping the lips.
