Re: Do people who have never heard the gospel go to hell?

No, we are not still on the same page.

Refreshed: You say you agree with this article that I posted but the articles says: "However, Scripture also teaches that the believer, while in the presence of the Lord, will not receive his glorified body until a later time"

Rainy: When we die we go into the presence of the Lord. That is our spiritual bodies and our souls go into the presence of the Lord at our death. Believers will not receive their glorified bodies until a later time. That later time is at their resurrection which will also be the time as the rapture. This is when our glorified bodies are caught up with Him in the clouds and are united at some point in this rapture with our spirits and souls. It all happens in the twinkling of an eye. The Bible is not clear at what point in this twinkle that the glorified body is reunited with our souls and bodies. Whether it is the beginning of the twinkle when we are just starting to come out of the grave, or whether it is in the air, I do not know. It happens so fast, does it really matter? But it does happen at the rapture/resurrection of the church. To me this shows that Jesus did receive His glorified body when He came up out of the grave. When He died on the cross He did not go to heaven to await His glorified body like we do. He went into the heart of the earth. The Bible does not say anywhere that we have to go to heaven to get our glorified bodies. We are changed/transformed at the resurrection.

Jesus was not in a spirit form when He told Mary Mag not to touch Him. If that were true His body would have still been in the tomb, but it was not. His body was raised from the dead by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit transformed His body into His glorified body when He raised Jesus from the dead. His spiritual body was not raised from the dead because it never died. The Bible does not say anywhere that Jesus ascended to heaven to get a glorified body so that people could touch Him. Mary touched Jesus. It is believed by some that she clung to Him so that He would not leave her again. Jesus was telling her that she must not touch Him like that because He must ascend to the Father. Some teaching believes that He was telling Mary that He must leave her again so stop clinging to Him to get Him to stay. Whether Jesus ascended to the Father in between His meeting with Mary and His meeting with Thomas I do not know for sure. There is teaching both ways. John 20:17 may be referring to an ascension in between the two meetings. This is where I may have been wrong in one of my other posts. That may have caused some of the confusion, sorry. I just don't think the Bible is clear on it, but whether He did or did not ascend then there is no way I believe that He ascended to get His glorified body. It had to have been for another purpose that we are not told.

"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." John 20:17
