I had a friend who went through triple bypass surgery and after that became severely depressed from then on and rarely left the house. He used to say that this life was his experience of hell.
Joni Tada Eareckson, who has been paralyzed for 50 years now I think often says the suffering of this life is hell's splash overs.
My view of hell is different from most christians in that I don't believe it's a place of forever conscious torment. I believe hell is a literal fire resulting in eternal death.
Regardless, the suffering of this life can feel like whatever we imagine hell would feel like.
My friend is now free of his suffering, he died last year, but his faith in Jesus remained until he died.
I hope Trapper doesn't go through the Depression my friend did. Heart surgeries often do lead to long lasting Depression in many I've heard. But with Trapper's knowledge on health, he'll probably be fine.
I was listening to the song below today, thinking and praying for another friend of mine that is experiencing what probably feels like hell right now. I hope she will experience redemption on this side of life, in a physical sense, since I know she has experienced it already in a spiritual sense.
I hope you can experience redemption soon from whatever feels like hell in your life too Somewhere!
1 Peter 5:10
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
