I am pasting in text from an earlier post FYI. I ahve followed the steps below for periods of 6 months at a time and been fine. Psyllium is not habit forming unlike a laxative because it is a natural fiber. You could continue on this while eliminating dairy, Sugar and refined and processed foods (white foods)and should feel quite well.
Something I've done in the past that has worked well (not while on MC) is to take one tblsp of psyllium with one tblsp of Bentonite and one tablespoon of caproil (all available at the healthfood store.) Mix these into a 10 oz glass of water and then follow with another 8-10 oz. You must mix and drink quickly as the psyllium absorbs water and expands. It's really very lumpy but you get used to it.
Psyllium is fiber - both soluable and insoluable - Bentonite is volcanic clay which absorbs impurities without being absorbed into the blood stream and caproil massages and enlivens the cilia in the intestinal lining. Take on an empty stomach every morning at least one hour away from food and three hours away from any meds. Be sure to drink lots of water through out the day or you may experiences constipation from the extra bulk. You can do this while on a healthy Diet and within three months, your GI tract should be pretty squeeky clean. No doubt sooner if you start it after finishing MC. Good luck & hang in there. Peace
