There have been many researchers (which are buried in the textbooks) that have proven the role of infections causing a wide variety of problems such as Alzheimer's, cancer, auto-immune and the like. Links between immune system, neurological and endocrine are coming out more and more.

Unfortunately it takes the medical system decades before they acknowledge this.
