I have an electric juicer just for lemons, limes, etc. and I squeeze all my lemons (1 cup of juice only - no rind - I read where rind can be toxic to some people - for the day) in the morning, add my cayenne pepper (to taste) and maple syrup (I use 50% less because I'm losing weight too) and put it in the fridge to retain its freshness and then pour 1c into a glass mixed with 1c water and mix this up throughout the day and each drink is followed with 4 c of water. Except for less maple syrup, I stick to the book, it works for me - I'm on day 22 and no problems.
