As a christian, I want to have the mind of Christ. In a perfect world I should not have to use the scriptures to speak my mind, but I am flawed and not perfect...only my Savior who gives me the gift of salvation is perfect. And because He covers me in a spiritual way, I am viewed by God as His child, made perfect in that spiritual way by the blood of Christ. However, I'm still in the flesh and that flesh is what sometimes tries to have a mind of it's own. Until that day when the flesh and satan have no part of my life, I will refer to the scriptures as the Word that I want coming out of my mouth. That way I do not give satan a chance to spin half truths in my speech, and my answers/replies to you can not be incorrect.
