Re: Gospel Validation...

At the end of all Job went through, what did he end up saying?

Job 42:5
I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you;

Job came out closer to God than he was before his suffering. And the devil was proven wrong about Job only worshipping God because of his physical blessings:

Job 1:
And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” 9 Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? 10 Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.”

God is Eternal and although Job's suffering was very severe, is was a second in time in compared to eternity. God knew that Job would be closer to him after going through all he did. What is more important than being closer to God? God always has a higher purpose for our sufferings.

And if Job's kids were believers, they suffered a quick death and will spend eternity in paradise with God. That's not so bad, right?

Satan lost and God accomplished his purpose, and that will always be the case.

And Job's sufferings also served another huge purpose as I said in another post. His story has helped countless other christians to make it through their own severe trials knowing that God still loves them and has not left them, and has a higher purpose for their sufferings too. Just like with Job, countless have been drawn closer to God through their suffering. I am one of those.

Now one thing that can also become a misconception with the Job story is that we know with Job, God ended up blessing him with more blessings than he even had before. That will not always be the case with believers on this side of life. Many times christians suffer a loss, never to get more physical blessings afterwards. Many very faithful believers will die in their sufferings even. The Apostles died in their sufferings. The martyrs of today die in their sufferings. Many christians suffering a terrible illness will die in their sufferings. But again, we are talking about a tiny span of time in compared to eternity.

2 Corinthians:
16So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Job 13:15
15 Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.

Psalms 73:
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
