You're not the only one who's incorporating Saliva into healing method Cottonmouth, Carokann may be a troll from what I've seen but he may have a point about saliva healing properties, plus I don't believe this story about saliva digesting lips.
Saliva has enzymes to digest sugars and starch, not skin, and if saliva could digest skin, 80% of the world would have EC. I think the negative side effects of saliva (drying) only happen if you don't moisturize after putting saliva on your lips as it evaporates off.
I think I've been licking my lips+using moisturizer for nearly 2 weeks now and my lips still feel great and are still healing as damaged skin getting closer and closer to normal skin, no negative effects at all so far and it feels great to lick my lips again as it feels like a taboo has been lifted, but lips won't heal overnight so I'm still going and will update if anything major changes.
