Re: Faith Comes by Hearing

Lol, well I asked for your opinion on where heaven was going to be because of the scripture in revelation 21 about the new Jerusalem.

Rev 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Further down in scripture it says:

24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

So I was giving you an out here...in case heaven came down to earth and the people still robed in flesh would be judged on the outside of the new jerusalem.

Yes it is talking mostly about believers but it also shows us something important about the unsaved.

53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

For we all start out as the perishable, until we are clothed in the imperishable. Which is the white robe of righteousness which is Christ. That glorified body is our reward. The rest of the perishable will not receive one. They will only have what-ever body that can stand before the Lord during judgement. So either they stand before the Lord outside of heaven/new jerusalem and be judged or they have an non-flesh spirit that stands before God. In other words the flesh stays outside while the spirit goes before the throne. Do you see the point I'm making about this issue?

I'm fine with the debate. I think I was more shocked that you came right out of the bliss of christmas wanting to debate such a hot topic. lol
