Re: Faith Comes by Hearing

Vektek: True! And it makes me think about the hell topic since that has been on my mind lately. Why are so many pastors and other christians so closed to an honest search for truth on this subject but instead shut it down and discourage someone from truly studying the scriptures about it?

Answer: Ask God. I already had an honest search for truth on this subject. My questions were not answered because you said you could not find them in the bible. Knowing how "flesh" is going to stand before God in heaven during judgement, is a very important point to resolve. So if your idea that flesh can stand before God in heaven then we have to figure out why scripture is understood wrong. Like I said...I gave you many outs to try and prove your point with, so you can't say that I didn't try to see it your way. You didn't even try and take me up on them. All you say is that you can't find the answer in the bible. I found my answer in the bible. You even quoted it.

1 Corinthians 15:42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.

If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45 So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. 46 The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47 The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. 48 As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

50 I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

Answer: If God doesn't answer you, then ask your Pastor. I already told you my reason of believing the way I do, and debated my point as well I know how. If God gives me more revelation then I will debate some more on the subject.

Vektek: "...the guy arguing the Traditional position said something like "We should not Rethink Hell because if we do that, then people will start Rethinking everything the church has taught."

Answer:
"It is the Word of God that leads us safely through the unknown. Whatever we believe---must be consistent with God's written Word. If we believe and feel that something is so, but we cannot find support for it in the Word we must conclude that what we believe and feel isn't from God."

Apparently none of us have gathered all the info needed as of yet on the subject to come to the same place in understanding. It has not been consistent. So I'm going to stay where I am until proven otherwise, just like I am on the subject of flat earth, believing the earth is a globe.
