Re: The Universal Heal--PLEASE READ
Hey JSL,
I looked back through your posts and saw you were on Imuran. Your lips looked really good whilst you were on it.. Are you still taking it? I am thinking of going to the derm to get a prescription.
I was prescribed an anti inflammatory cream, for the reasons that my biopsy showed inflammation in the lip. I thought, "well of course there is inflammation, you took a chunk out of my lip with a knife!".
^^ to the OP. I do not think there is a size fits all. My lips are as bad as Daniel Millers, I have had this for 10 years. I had a white film over my lips, wiped it away, and than the problem began. I didn't think it was a problem, and thought it would go away, heck I only tried healing it two years ago.
The whole skin is ready to come away thing is bullshit to me. Its never ready to come off, it wants to stay on because that is the skin. There is only raw skin underneath because the covering keeps coming off from eating, talking, brushing teeth etc. The aquaphor, or any ointment for that matter, makes the skin super soft so its as if its ready to come off. It never is, otherwise it would not burn, nor grow back.
Skin on the lips, as JSL has said, is meant to be one of the fastest healing parts of the body. My lips grow back normal after 3 days... 5 days later the skin starts to shed, as if my body is rejecting it. I do think it is a wound, and a result of constant picking, however now it has come so far that I just can't see anything topical working
