Re: Herbal resistance true?

Part II

Resistance is more apparent in the pharma world. For instance Chinchona bark is a South America remedy for malaria. Chinchona contains quinine. They made a synthetic version of this into many pharma drugs to treat malaria but they are finding out that malaria has developed resistance to these, however according to Dr. Leslie Taylor, they have not developed resistance to natural quinine.

Studies show that combining Antibiotic pharmas with herbs or spices is more effective against organisms than just pharmas. Back to the malaria studies, they found that combining artemesia along with the quinine drugs has more effect than taking either alone, this is according a study conducted by WHO.

There are a number of plant based meds that will bind the efflux pumps thus lessening resistance. Some of the ones of note are goldenseal leaf (not root), hemp oil (not marijuana oil, just the legal hemp oil) which contains vital cannabinoids that stop resistance. And there are others.
