Hyperkeratosis my ass. Look, I'm no doctor, but if your lips are raw and red and sensitive to the touch, then you cannot be growing EXCESS skin--because you're actually missing skin. Also, if you've ripped your lip-skin off by biting, or if you've burned it off with hot sauce, or with some medication that you were taking, then this should be a clue to you that your lips aren't producing excess of anything. They're actually missing something vital.
