Work on accepting yourself and forgiving yourself for whatever past transgressions and faults you find in yourself. It may be self-acceptance you are (even unconsciously) yearning for and not the love of another person.
If you "need" the love of another person, it's because you don't love yourself and you have an expectation that the other person's love will in turn help you "fall in love" with yourself, as it were.
You can work on this alone, you don't need another person to validate you.
