Re: Coming off Celexa
What is your dosage? 60? I can find out for you from some friends. That is both an anti-depressant and anti-anxiety/pain isn't it? I think I remember hearing the wean off is longer for this med than some others, so be careful! Did you use it for post-childbirth?
Before I learned that nearly all of my
Depression was nutrition/breath related, I was on Zoloft for about a year. Although a different med and dosage obviously, the ween off may be similar. REALLY SLOW! I took a little over a month to wean off..
this is just an example, dealing with a different med.
my dosage was 100 mg, I think.. or was it 150.. don't recall:
week one: 100-75-100-75-100-75-100
week two: 75-50-75-50-75-50-75
week three: 50-25-50-25-50-25-50
week four: 25-12.5-25-12.5-25.12.5-25
week five: 12.5-0-12.5-0-12.5-0-12.5
week six: 12.5 a few times whenever feeling weird..
This is not a recommendation for you to follow since they are compeltely different meds, but simply to illustrate that you should do it SLOWLY. Take your time. There were a couple times under full dosage when I simply forgot to take my zoloft, and couldn't get home to get some, and it was really strange and uncomfortable. Felt like my brain was being squeezed and my reality and emotions became hollow and stomach/dan-tien full of anxiety.
If I may ask, have your dreams changed at all while on this med? I felt as if I was dreaming someone elses dreams when I was on zoloft. It was really scary and surreal.. felt like I was in someone elses body/psyche and I did not like it at all! I prefer the often spiritual and lucid dreams I am accustomed to, which disappeared. That is when I decided I couldn't hang anymore. big fan of the dreamworld and conversations with my deceased grandfather. :)
Now I cycle between 5htp and L-tryptophan for
Depression although the alkalinity stuff (I love Sang Whang's "Bicarbolife" (alkalife.com)) seems to be helping more than anything! Well, besides the DIET, HYDRATION, and LOTS OF RAW FOOD AND SMOOTHIES!!!!
Wishing you well,
Brian
