Actress Jenna Elfman, best known as Dharma from the television series "Dharma and Greg," has been recently vocal about parental rights in California.
Today, SB277, the bill to disallow virtually all childhood vaccine exemptions passed the Senate. Elfman was in the midst of the action, strongly articulating her opposition to the bill for parents' sake.
Refreshingly, she is leading a social media crusade to allow and encourage pro-vaccination individuals the courage to speak up for medical freedom. She vaccinates her children and speaks positively of vaccines, but has dedicated her time, energy and voice to encouraging parents to shoot the bill down and keep the ability to individualize their healthcare choices such as deciding when/if/how to approach their family doctor and shots.
What heightens respect for Elfman in many people's eyes is her dedication to other people's rights despite her personal beliefs.
